August Unemployment Rate Increases to 4.9%

Walkerton, ON (September 5, 2025) – In August, the unemployment rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region increased by 0.8 percentage points to 4.9%. The Region sits at the second lowest unemployment rate in the province, behind Northwest Ontario. Meanwhile, the provincial unemployment rate increased by 0.3 percentage points this month to 8.3%, both unadjusted for seasonality.
